Airsoft Spring Guns Basics

Airsoft Spring guns are the basic, entry level gun that you can start out with in airsoft. They are seen more as the “toy” of the airsoft gun group, and usually cater to kids and teenagers that just want to have fun out in the yard or with their friends. There are other uses for these airsoft guns, including using them as a pest deterrent (like causes a raccoon or other animal to fear coming around), or for target practice, or even in live military simulations when single shot pistols are useful. The airsoft spring gun has some distinct characteristics, that make it more attractive than its counterpart gas and electric airsoft pistols and guns.

Price Break on the Spring Airsoft Pistol

This is probably the most convincing advantage of the airsoft spring gun. Because it uses a mechanical spring that has to be manually cocked before each instance of firing, this gun is able to manufactured and sold for typically much less than other, more technically advanced airsoft guns. Many of these air guns have a nice look, but can be purchased for less than £10.

Less Chance for Technical Difficulties

Again, due to its simplistic design and nature, the spring airsoft gun just doesn’t have as many internal parts that need to be considered. Therefore, all you have to worry about, is cocking and shooting. This is another reason why these guns are so popular among kids – you don’t have to worry about them jamming up as much, or batteries going dead, or running out of gas to reload the airsoft gun.

A Few Disadvantages of Spring Airsoft Pistols

Because of their inexpensive manufacturing, these guns tend to be made of plastic, and don’t hold up well in the long run. They might not have many technical difficulties, but over time, they will begin to operate more poorly and eventually wear out. Also, for military simulations where realism is important, these guns don’t carry the same weight, operation, and appearance as other, more advanced airsoft pistols do.

All in all, if you are wanting a great price, and an entry into the airsoft gun world, the spring airsoft gun is for you. If you are a parent looking for an expensive gift for that little one, then you are also a good candidate for a airsoft spring gun. But if you are looking for more realistic and higher power airsoft play, then you may want to consider an electric or gas airsoft pistol or gun instead.
