Umarex SWAT HK53 Series Gas Blowback Rifle by VFC Black

The Heckler & Koch HK53 is a variation of the HK33, which is essentially a 5.56mm version of the well-known Heckler & Koch G3 rifle but looks more like an MP5. It also uses the renowned roller-delayed blowback technology of Heckler & Koch. In reaction to the United States using an intermediary cartridge during the Vietnam War, the HK33 was created. However, it wasn’t until the H&K G36 rifle arrived that Germany adopted the 5.56mm NATO round. Even the “Carbine” version of the HK33, the HK33K, was too bulky for some covert organisations. The HK53 was created as a result. The HK53 has a handguard that is the same size as the MP5A5 and A3 and a retractable stock that is comparable in size to the MP5A5 or MP5A3. As a result, many external accessories created for the MP5 will work with the HK53 rifle. The best example of this is the British armed police and armed forces adopting the rifle as the L101A1 because some units, mainly those that were quelling the Troubles, such as the legendary Special Air Service (SAS), were armed with the HK53 because it has the same manual of arms and size as the MP5 but can deliver more stopping power and could deal with heavier targets. In addition, due to the readily available 40 round magazines, the United States Navy SEALs employed it in small numbers during the Vietnam War under the designation T223 produced under licence by Harrington & Richardson (H&R).

The HK53 is still in use by the United States Border Patrol today. The HK53 gas airsoft rifle from Umarex (Elite Force) is an exact copy of the German Cold War icon. The HK53 gas airsoft rifle is comprised of stamped sheet steel and high-quality plastics, giving it the same robustness you may expect from the real deal itself, just like their genuine steel counterparts, as well as the Umarex (Elite Force) H&K G3 and MP5s. The HK53 has a classic lower receiver, just like the Umarex (Elite Force) H&K G3 and some early model MP5s, but instead of the usual S, E, and F markings, it has 0, 1, and 25, where 0 denotes safe, 1 denotes semi-auto, and 25 denotes full auto, making it quite distinct from other Umarex (Elite Force) H&K airsoft replicas. The Umarex (Elite Force) HK53 has been strengthened internally by VFC by adding a big bore bolt mechanism and strong recoil buffer with heavy recoil springs to provide the HK53 gas airsoft rifle more felt recoil while maintaining realistic cycling and rate of fire.

The HK53 gas airsoft rifle also includes VFC’s innovative Hop-up adjustment system, which enables you to alter the hop-up without removing the magazine by just removing the handguard and spinning the dial. As was previously mentioned, the actual Heckler & Koch MP5 and the HK53 each have a tonne of external accessories that are thankfully also compatible with the airsoft versions of these weapons! The Picatinny handguard, fixed buttstock, V-Light 5 Tactical Handguard Weaponlight, Picatinny Top Rails, and even the lower receiver trigger group are all cross-compatible external accessories developed by VFC for the Umarex (Elite Force) H&K MP5. In other words, if you already possess an Umarex (Elite Force) H&K MP5 and have a lot of extra accessories laying around, the Umarex (Elite Force) HK53 might be your next buy, just like an SAS warrior back in the day. The G3 family’s middle child, the Umarex (Elite Force) HK53 gas airsoft rifle, is the Cold War assault rifle to own whether you are a Cold War enthusiast, a fan of the old school special forces or if you just really appreciate HK slapping your gun!
