Spyderco was founded in 1967 by Sal Glesser and his wife Gail. The first Spyderco pocket knife was produced in 1981, and it was notable for the circular hole in the blade known as the Spydiehole. This is still one of the most significant characteristics on a Spyderco knife today.

Spyderco is one of the world’s largest and most well-known knife brands. The Spyderco Paramilitary 2, Delica 4, and Tenacious are all well-known knives. EDC knives, outdoor knives, and luxury gentleman’s knives are all available. Spyderco has created whatever you can dream. What do all of these knives have in common? Sal Glasser’s blade hole, the Spydiehole, and the creation of Spyderco

Sal Glesser is one of the most influential people in the knife business. Spyderco was created in 1967 by him and his wife Gail. The C01 Worker, Spyderco’s first pocket knife, was introduced in 1981. The round hole in the blade of this knife made it stand out. Designed specifically to open the knife with one hand. This hole, sometimes known as the Spydiehole, is one of the most crucial aspects of a Spyderco knife to this day.

Everything began as a small converted vehicle. They drove it across the country to market their wares. Spyderco now has plants in China, Japan, Taiwan, Italy, and, of course, the United States. Frequently in collaboration with world-renowned knife makers and designers. They also supply knives to the United States Army, and many first responders use Spyderco blades. If it isn’t an example of American achievement, we don’t know what is.
Steel types: just the best for a Spyderco knife

When it comes to steel kinds, Spyderco is an expert. No other knife brand in the world employs as many different varieties of steel in its production knives. Steels such as 8Cr13MoV, VG10, CTS-BD1N, and CPM S30V are frequently seen. For the Spyderco Sprint Runs and Flash Batches, premium and exotic steels such as CPM REX45, Damascus, CPM S90V, Böhler M390, CPM CruWeaR, and others are used. Are you looking for a totally stainless steel? If so, the Salt collection with H1 and LC200N steel is ideal for you.

Spyderco, on the other hand, does not stop there. The company also manufactures its own steel. Consider the SPY27-steel, which was announced in 2020. A partnership with Crucible Industries. SPY27 steel is a stainless steel with cobalt reinforcement. This steel is marginally superior to the popular S30V and S35VN steels.
