STI International became Staccato in 2020, 33 years after the launch of the original Tripp Research and 27 years after its first incarnation as STI. The ownership and management of the company did not change; just the name.
For many years Staccato is known as the firm that transformed the iconic 1911 design by John Browning into the 2011 gun platform. Competition shooters loved our 2011 pistols for their accuracy and speed because of their improved capacity, smoother ergonomics, and reduced recoil.
With thousands of matches and titles won, the STI brand was—and probably still is—the most decorated in the competitive shooting world.
