CRKT Freyr™
American heart blended with Norse ingenuity.
If the shape of an axe has worked for over a thousand years, there’s no reason to change it. Designer and war hero Elmer Roush had this in mind when he made the CRKT FreyrTM tactical axe.
Brasstown, North Carolina’s Elmer Roush is inspired by the past whenever he creates a new axe. Freyr’sTM deep beard may not be used to draw back an enemy’s shield like it would have in Viking-patrolled sea, but the balance it offers boosts this axe to a modern workhorse.
Despite its conventional outward look, the Viking spirit behind the ship justifies its naming after the Norse god of wealth. A passivation treatment is applied to a blade made of hot-forged carbon steel, increasing its resistance against corrosion. The handle is constructed from Tennessee hickory and is designed for comfort and longevity.
If it’s true that history tends to repeat itself, then this handy axe is the clinching evidence.
