CRKT Pilar® III
Where the greatest practical functionality meets the smallest of designs.
The CRKT Pilar® III preserves the essence of the classic and the legendary tale behind its name while transforming the minimalist’s sailor knife into a decidedly urban EDC. It has a low profile, is discrete when folded, and was thoughtfully created to outperform its weight when in use.
In his Danish store, Jesper Voxnaes invented the original CRKT Pilar®. named after Ernest Hemingway’s favourite yacht, a 38-foot long boat he used to conduct rogue surveillance of German U-boats in Caribbean waters during World War II. The well-known author was also an avid big-game hunter, sailor, and fisherman; for his daily tasks, he would have chosen a knife companion from the Pilar® line.
The delicate yet strong tip of the 2.9″ spear point blade, which has a satin finish, is useful for more intricate work. Years of use are no match for the durable G10 handle, and the eye-catching stainless steel lanyard loop completes the design. The blade is deployed by a thumb slot opening mechanism, and the IKBS ball bearing pivot system creates an incredibly smooth trajectory.
The Pilar® III is the knife that will be up to the task because the modern Hemingway is the epitome of a Renaissance man.
