Tokyo Marui URGI Block 3 Carbine NGRS Review

Tokyo Marui URGI Block 3 Carbine NGRS Review

Written By Phil Bucknall of Clearwater Airsoft.

So the Marui magic pixies have been to Clearwater Airsoft HQ again – thanks Defcon Airsoft UK !!

The new URGI block 3 carbine has arrived and it looks very nice.

-It’s very light! Well built as you’d expect but damn it’s light. This is a good thing in my humble opinion.

-The rail is beautifully done and a nice shade of tan/brown/FDE/mud/Earth whatever it is these days BUT! for some reason Marui haven’t replicated any of the Geissele trademarks, which is unusual for them. Same on the charging handle. Nicely done but lacking trades. The receiver does have Colt trademarks however.

-It has a different style rear sight to the Mk18 which is more substantial and goes from 200-600m

– the flash hider is the surefire four prong style a la Mk18.

– the package includes three sections of MLOK rail pieces.

– for those who do use the standard Marui batteries; they have some tan stickers to put on the angled rear pieces where they’d be visible at the ends of the battery tubes. A little detail and who knows how long they’ll last but a nice touch.

– They have made some changes to the proprietary battery system so the bars and connector are now screwed together and the fuse is a 25A blade instead of the old 20A glass tube type.

– the standard Marui sopmod stock will, with some dremeling, accept a 7000mah Titan Li-ion split 7.4v battery which should keep you going for months! Obviously this requires soldering on some extra wire and a deans connector also.

The gun fires nicely at around 280fps with my preferred BB’s. 0.28g ASG open blasters. The RoF is absolutely fine and in line with the other M4 based Marui guns using the EG1000 motor and no internal upgrades. Range wise it is again on par with other similar Marui guns and shots on man sized targets are easily achievable at 45-50m. If you think that’s not far enough then I’m gonna say you’re wrong.

It really is and after testing a huge number of guns over the years most people can’t hit a moving target much past 30m anyway! Of course you can extend this range and the BB’s do go further but your chance of hitting drops significantly with every five metres past 50 but I have scored the very odd and lucky hit at 60+m. To be honest. I’m generally happy with that sort of range for the games I play but I fully appreciate people like to tinker and extend both range and FPS as well as RoF etc etc. something that’s easy to do with the plethora of parts available for the NGRS series.

I did notice that even though it’s longer than my Mk18; the lightweight rail does make it more comfortable to wield all day and it’s very quick to transition from target to target. With a shortdot LPVO installed it keeps the weight to the mid/rear of the gun so aiming for extended periods is easy due to the balance and this again helps with the usability of the gun. Overall I’m very happy with it. It does leave me with a conundrum in that I genuinely grab this as my go to and have to force myself almost to use the other guns I have.

If you don’t want the full length version Marui have announced the shorter SBR version will be released sometime soon and this will come with a replica Magpul STR stock. Personally I can’t wait as I’m dying to see how they address battery storage. If it’s a decent solution then I will no doubt add one to the Clearwater Airsoft Armoury!

Stay safe and see you soon!

Colt M4A1 Carbine – Real Steel History

The Colt M4A1 carbine was designed specifically for US military special forces. It has recently been paid a considerable sum to soldiers from airborne divisions and marines, for example, and it has swiftly developed to be an automatic rifle that epitomises the American army in recent years due to its great performance in CQB (= close battle).

The Knights’ RIS (= Rail Interface System), which turned the four sides of the hand guard into a mount rail, was released in the late 1990s. Meanwhile, new versions of optical equipment, silencers, and flash lights are being introduced one after the other. Furthermore, a grenade launcher that can be attached to the barrel is created, and by picking and attaching these accessories for each element of the strategy, it is possible to respond to different situations without modifying the base gun.

As the M4A1 played an active role in Afghanistan and Iraq, each country created a “modular weapon system” that instals numerous extra parts on the basis of a compact and lightweight carbine gun with rails configured. M4A1, who succeeded in methodically operating a military gun, left a significant legacy in gun history.

URG-I Sopmod Block 3 NGRS AEG Tokyo Marui

Product Description – The latest carbine of the United States Army Special Forces.

The next-generation electric gun is fitted with the latest 14-inch upper receiver (URG-I) utilised by the US Army Special Forces “Green Beret” in 2019! It is a discerning model that adheres to URG-I criteria, such as a hand guard that measures the actual thing and replicates a unique shape.

With shoot and recoil engine

Pulling the trigger causes the weight that imitates the bolt to act concurrently with firing, and the severe recoil generated inside the main body to be communicated to the entire body. In addition, when the magazine is empty, an auto stop system is used to stop the shooting process. It is a paradigm that seeks operational and operability realities.

Rail System M-LOK

The hand guard is a replica of the Super Modular Rail (SMR) MK16 M-LOK DDC, which used the “M-LOK” rail system. The 20mm wide (Picatinny standard) M-LOK rail is available in three different configurations: three slots, five slots, and seven slots. It is simple to attach and detach with the provided hexagon wrench.

Reproduced Accurately

The gas block for the DD type URG-I, government barrel, ambi charging handle, and other details have been properly replicated.

Achieves exceptional strength

Rail hand guards, outer barrels, buffer tubes, and flash hiders are all made of metallic materials. It achieves stiffness that is safe for game use by using a full floating barrel where the hand guard does not interfere with the barrel.

Front and rear sights that fold

In consideration of the usage of optical sights, the front sight that can be adjusted up and down and the rear sight that can be adjusted up, down, left and right are foldable. Furthermore, because it is attached and detached via the mount rail, the mounting position can be modified.

Compatible with a variety of muzzles

You can install a muzzle item with a 14mm reverse screw specification, such as a silencer, if you remove the flash hider on the muzzle.

Steel press mag

It comes with an 82-bullet magazine and a steel press outer shell comparable to the actual real steel mag.
